Directions to Staircase Loop Trailhead:
From Shelton travel north on US 101 for 15 miles to Hoodsport. Turn left (west) onto State Route 119, proceeding 9.3 miles to a T intersection with Forest Road 24. Make a sharp left. In 1.7 miles the pavement ends. Continue on a good gravel road (FR 24) and in 3.7 miles come to a junction. Turn right and drive 1.2 miles to the Staircase Ranger Station. Trailhead parking is on your right, across from the campground. This is also the trailhead to Flap Jack Lakes.
**Staircase Loop is located inside Olympic National Park. $20.00 for 7 consecutive days or you must have a pass**
Directions to Mt. Ellinor Trail:
From Hoodsport, take State Route 119 for 9.0 miles to the junction with Forest Service Road 24. Turn right and go 1.6 miles to Forest Service Road 2419 (Big Creek Road). Travel on Forest Road 2419 for 4.9 miles to the lower trailhead. To reach the upper trailhead go another 1.5 miles, turn left on Forest Service Road 2419-014, follow it to the end of road.
Directions to Spider Lake Trail:
From Shelton, WA travel 7 miles north on Highway 101. Turn west on the Valley Road and drive about 5.5 miles to the junction with Forest Road 23. Turn right and proceed for 10 miles on Forest Road 23 to the junction of Forest Road 2353. Veer left and continue on Forest Road 23 (end of pavement) another 8 miles to the Spider Lake Trailhead.
Directions to Lena Lake Trail:
From Hoodsport, WA travel 14 miles north on US Highway 101 to Forest Service Road #25 (Hamma Hamma Recreation Area). Turn west on Forest Service Road 25 and travel 7.6 miles to the Lena Lake Trailhead. Road is paved to the Lena Lake Trailhead.
From Port Angeles, turn off Highway 101 onto Race Street. Continue on Race
Street for 1.2 miles to Hurricane Ridge Road. A large structure to your right is
the Olympic National Park Visitors Center and Wilderness Information Center.
Stop here to grab a map and a park pass, if you need one, then continue up the
Hurricane Ridge Road for 18 miles to the Hurricane Ridge Visitors Center. Pass
the Visitors Center and drive one and a half miles down the road to the
trailhead parking area. While there are no facilities at the trailhead, there is
a bathroom about a half mile before the trailhead and water is available at the
Hurricane Ridge Visitors Center.
